Q4 is the most crowded and expensive stretch of the year to advertise, which makes the split between influencer marketing and paid ads more important than usual. Our recommendation for most home, design, and lifestyle brands is to start creator partnerships early, use paid spend to amplify the creator content that's already working, and avoid competing in the most expensive weeks unless you sell giftable products.
Why Q4 costs more
Ad prices on Meta rise as retailers pile into the holiday auction. One analysis of US Meta advertising found Q4 2025 CPMs averaged $25.49, about 26% above the annual average, with Black Friday week running far higher. Costs usually start climbing in late October and stay high until just after Christmas.
If your budget is fixed, every dollar buys fewer impressions in November and December. That's a reason to be deliberate about when you spend and what you put behind it.
Why influencer marketing belongs in the plan
Brands keep moving budgets toward creators. eMarketer reported that US influencer marketing spending passed $10 billion in 2025 and forecast 15.7% growth for 2026. It also projects that micro- and nano-influencers will take 45.5% of influencer spending this year, which reflects how many brands are working with smaller creators whose audiences are focused and engaged.
For design and home brands, smaller creators often fit best. An interior stylist with 20,000 followers who shows a lamp or rug in her own home can drive more saves and site visits than a celebrity post, and her content is reusable well after the campaign ends.
Connect the two with partnership ads
Partnership ads let a brand run a creator's post as a paid ad, under the creator's handle with a paid partnership label. Meta reports that partnership ads deliver 19% lower cost per acquisition and 13% higher click-through rates than standard ads on average. Meta's Partnership Ads Hub also shows organic performance for creator posts that tag your brand, so you can see what worked before you put money behind it.
This is how we approach Q4 for clients: creators make the content, organic results tell us which posts people respond to, and paid budget goes to those posts.
A Q4 timeline
Early October: Confirm creator partners, send product, and agree on usage rights that include paid amplification. Ask creators to enable partnership ad access when they post.
Mid to late October: Creator content goes live. Watch saves, shares, and comments to find the strongest posts while ad costs are still lower.
November: Put paid budget behind the top two or three creator posts. Retarget people who engaged with them. Giftable brands can push harder around Black Friday; brands with longer purchase cycles can pull back that week.
December: Keep a smaller paid budget on proven ads, and run a second round of gifting for holiday and New Year content.
January: Reuse the best creator content in ads when costs drop after the holidays, and feed it into Q1 campaigns.
How to split the budget
There's no single right ratio, but the split should follow your product and goals:
Brands selling giftable products under a few hundred dollars can lean further into paid, since Q4 shoppers are ready to buy
Brands selling higher-consideration pieces, like furniture, lighting, or rugs, get more value from creator content that builds awareness and trust over time, with a smaller paid budget for amplification and retargeting
New brands or new collections benefit from creator content first, since paid ads perform better once you know which images and messages work
As a starting point, many of our clients plan creator fees, product costs, and paid amplification as one Q4 budget instead of separate line items. That makes it easier to move money toward whatever is performing.
Measure what matters for your brand
Track saves, shares, link clicks, and site traffic from each creator alongside paid metrics like cost per click and return on ad spend. For considered purchases, watch branded search and direct traffic into January, since many buyers see a product in Q4 and purchase later.
